Aviemore: Local Information 

Aviemore is the perfect base for exploring many places and depending on the time of year there will always be something to suit everyone young and old. This area is perfect for walkers, climbers and mountain bikers.. Inverness is about half an hour away with a shopping mall, a Victorian Market and plenty of choice for eating out. There are the Ospreys at Loch Garten to visit and the Highland Wildlife Park. An absolute must for any children in the group, is the Landmark Centre at Carrbridge.

Outdoor and sporting activities available locally include Fishing, Sailing, Canoeing, Swimming, Mountain Biking, Pony Trekking, Golf (including the new championship course nearby), Tennis, Clay pigeon Shooting, Dry Slope Skiing, Steam Railway and a new Indoor Climbing Wall.

In winter there is skiing on the magnificent Cairngorm Mountain and there is a ski bus stop just along the road at Dalfaber golf and country club should you require it. There are many hotels and restaurants to choose from which are just a short walk/drive away from the house (the nearest is Dalfaber Golf and Country Club which has lots of children’s activities and also has a pay phone should you require one.
